Got sick

This month has been weird.  I was on week 4 of the P90x program and I got sick pretty bad.  It took me a couple weeks to get back to normal.  Then I got hit with having to tear up our living room so we could get our furniture reupholstered, and playing way too much World of Warcraft...my workout schedule was seriously compromised.

So I had to make the decision to either pick up where I left off or to just call it a false start and start over again.  If it had just been a week, I probably would have just picked up where I left off.  But this was really too long a break in training for me to get the full impact that I was after.  So I started over again.

Last week was week 1.  And I'm getting better at these push-ups.  There are some different kinds that you will do in a single workout...

  • Standard pushups
  • Military pushups
  • Wide grip pushups
  • Diamond pushups

...just to name a few.

I can't do as many as the people in the video but I do try to do more every time I try.  Last week I wondered how many I was doing total, so I added them up.  In a one hour workout routine, I'm able to do 103 pushups.

I was amazed.

I'm still hating the plyometric workouts.  They are great for the legs and buttocks but I'm still nervous about all the jumping around.  Although I have to admit that my knees are getting stronger having to deal with it.

The fabric

When we got our furniture redone, we special ordered our fabric.  At the store they asked if we needed a cart to take this bolt of fabric out to the car.  After looking at it for a moment, I said, "I think I can lift it."  So with one fluid movement I hoisted it up onto my shoulder.  After a moment or two to adjust to it...I was fine.  So I'm carrying this huge thing down the aisle while other customers are watching.  It was pretty cool.

I know Halloween has come and gone.  But I haven't posted any pictures yet.  And since I spent most of my time in Wow (World of Warcraft), here's some pictures of me in game wearing the various costumes we got during the events.

This is me riding a bat and wearing a pumpkin head mask.

Close-up shot...

And on a flying broom....

And as an undead pirate....

Dancing ninja with trick or treat bucket...

Pirate goblin...

Leper gnome with a pumpkin head mask.... (I'm the one on the left)

I think that's all for this week.  I'll try to post again soon.  Now get out there and do some jumping jacks!

Hey TFG,

I sent you an e-mail on sparkpeople, but I never heard back. I hope you are feeling better. I am wanting to purchase a bowflex. I was hoping you could give me some pointers or advice on the equipment. The two models I am looking at are the Ultimate II and the Revelotion. Any help you could shed would be greatly appreciated.
